I recently finished working at Brooklyn Model Works, a full service miniature and custom fabrication shop in Brooklyn. We were working on a large model of New York City for Gulliver's Gate, a newly opened miniature world exhibition in Times Square. I curated and created graphics for billboards, street signs and other signage in the model.
The following two images are of the set for a short stop motion animation that I created as my senior thesis project. It took six months to make and is completely hand made.
I started making model aircraft out of paper in middle school. Since then I have created all kinds miniatures, developing all of my techniques on my own. All of my models and creations are built totally from scratch materials including paper cardboard wire and clay. I have even begun experimenting with lighting and electronics in my model work.
